The War Tax combines an Oxford mystery, Georgian danger and a secret organisation whose rules exist because history can erase the people who break them.
Theo wants to understand why the records are changing. Instead, he is sent into 1775 to save Henry Beeke, an unremarkable scholar whose survival may support the future Theo knows. Another traveller is already waiting for him.
